Science Popularization/ Awareness Scheme:

The scheme is aimed at Enhancing Public awareness through the conduct of various Science &Technology programmes/ awareness activities.

Main activities:
|
Conduct of programmes/activities like Debates, Quizzes, celebration of important scientific days / weeks, National science Days, Environment day Seminars, science Awareness camps, Nature study camps/tours capacity building programmes, workshops, Training programes etc in different educational institutes of the UT of JK. The scheme is also aimed at promoting innovation and research in schools, colleges, Technical, R&D Institutions, and universities of J&K.

Technology Transfer Intervention scheme:

The scheme is aimed at Transfer and dissemination of new and relevant Technologies in diverse fields like industry Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, IT Research and Education

Main activities:
|
Introduction Demonstration and Transfer of New cost and labour efficient Technologies in varied fields of S&T like introduction and transfer of High yielding and High density crops. Hi-Tech Solid waste management technologies. New and Emerging Technologies in IT sector, like Spatial data Infrastructure (Geo-Portal),Demonstration and transfer of rural Technologies, Development of People friendly Apps/ websites/ programmes in IT sector etc.

Sponsored Research and Extension program:
|
The scheme is aimed at promoting and sponsoring hi Tech Research projects , scientific studies and surveys in various R&D and Technical institutions of UT.

Main activities:
|
Sponsoring of small /Medium and short term scientific/ studies and Research projects upto 1-2 years duration, through open advertisements. It covers the sponsoring of short term studies, Surveys etc. It also covers the Expenditure on account of Consultancy fees, DPRs charges for New Projects/ Honorarium for screening/Technical/ Advisory committees.

Science Talent Promotion scheme:
|
The scheme is aimed at encouragement of scientific talent and Human resource development by awarding scholarships , Fellowships, science Awards to the scientific community, etc.

Main activities:
|
Award of science/ merit scholarships at 8th,+10, +12 and PG levels, Fellowship of 3-6 months to the students/ working scientists , science Awards to the Researchers/ working scientists of J&K.

Support for Innovation and Patent Filing Scheme:
|
The scheme is aimed at promotion of innovation and encouragement of novel ideas in sc. and Technology.

Main activities:
|
Workshops/ seminars on IPR Patent filing awareness programmes.Financial Assistance for innovators for development of prototypes and Patent Filing charges/fees. Jk innovators meet. etc. sponsoring of innovation camps, in different educational, Technical and R&D institutes of the UT of J&K.

UT share for Project K-5000 sponsored by IIM-CSIR- GOI Jammu :

Demonstration and Establishment of Aromatic and Medicinal plant Farms at District Kupwara in the first instance.
|
Main activities:
|
The Establishment of Demonstration Farms of Aroma Cash Crops Project K-5000 in District Kupwara approved by the Govt of J&K with the total project cost of Rs 500.00 lakh vide G.O. No. 32-ST of 2017, Dt. 14-05-2017.Under the Project cultivating and setting up of Demonstration farms of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants on Community owned/ Kacharai land in the District kupwara at an estimated cost of Rs 500.00 lakhs. This project is a joint venture between CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicines (IIIM) and J&K Science, Technology and Innovation Council on 50:50 share bases.

UT share for Establishment of Bio-Technology Parks Sponsored by DBT, GOI :

The scheme is aimed at strengthening research and infrastructure facilities by way of Establishment of centres of Excellence in the fields of Bio- Technology.

Main activities:
|
Establishment of two biotechnology parks.Department of Bio-Technology, G.O.I has sanctioned two Industrial Bio-Technology Parks (IBTP) for the UT of J&K at an Estimated cost of Rs 8466 lacs on 70:30 sharing basis of funds between Department of Biotechnology, GOI and Department of S&T ,J&K. The parks are being Established at Ghati,Kathua, jammu and Baripora, Handwara, Kashmir at an estimated cost of Rs 4200.00 lacs and 4266.00 lacs respectively. Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM)-CSIR Jammu is the Knowledge partner and Implementing Agency for both the parks and NPCC has been nominated as the construction Agency for both the parks by PMC.
